Not reviewed by a lawyer
This document was written to describe how the system genuinely works, and it is accurate on that. It has not been through legal review, and no company stands behind it — see “Who runs this, and what that means for you” in the Privacy Policy, which sets out what that costs you before you upload anything.
Terms of Service
Version 2026-08-30
These terms cover your use of TalentRewind, run as The TalentRewind project — a free, non-commercial project, not a company. Using it means accepting them. They are deliberately short, and they state plainly that there is no registered entity on the other side of this page.
1. What the service does
TalentRewindreads resume files you upload, extracts structured details from them, and makes them searchable within your workspace. It also tracks each candidate's stage in your hiring pipeline, shared across the people you invite.
Extraction is performed by software, including language models. It is not perfect, and it is not reviewed by a human before you see it. Any field can be wrong, and every field can be corrected by you. Treat the output as a fast first pass over your own documents, not as verified fact about a person. Keep your original resume files — do not treat this as your only copy of anything.
2. Your account
Sign-in is by one-time code sent to your work email. Anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you, so treat access to it as access to your workspace.
The first person to create a workspace owns it and can invite others and set what each of them may do. You are responsible for what the people you invite do with the data inside it.
3. The resumes you upload — your responsibility
This is the clause that matters most, so it is stated bluntly.
- You must have the right to hold and process every resume you upload. TalentRewind does not verify this and cannot.
- You are the Data Fiduciary for that candidate data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We act as your processor. If a candidate exercises a right, answering them is your obligation.
- Do not upload data you obtained unlawfully, data you were told to delete, or resumes of people under 18.
If you lose the right to hold a resume, remove it — see the Privacy Policy for how deletion works today, including the parts that are still manual.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- resell, redistribute or publish candidate data taken out of the product;
- use it to build a competing candidate database, or to scrape it in bulk by automated means;
- attempt to reach another workspace's data, or probe the service for weaknesses without asking us first in writing;
- send anyone unsolicited bulk messages using contact details revealed here.
Reveals of contact details are rate-limited and recorded. Sustained patterns that look like bulk extraction rather than recruiting may be suspended without notice.
5. It is free, and there is nothing to buy
TalentRewind is a free preview. There is no paid plan, no trial that converts into one, no card on file and no invoice. Nothing in the product will ever ask you to pay, because there is nothing set up to take money.
There is no plan to monetise it. If that ever changes it will not happen quietly: it would need a new version of these terms, and it could not be applied to anything you had already uploaded under this one.
6. Ending it
You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your workspace. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 3 or 4, and will say why unless doing so would itself be unlawful.
On closure your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Export your data before you ask for closure — deletion is not reversible.
7. Changes to these terms
Material changes get a new version string, and the version at the top of this page is always the one in force. When it changes we email workspace owners. The version you accepted is recorded against your email address, so a change does not apply retroactively to an agreement you never saw. Re-prompting existing users for acceptance at sign-in is not built yet; until it is, that email and this page are the notice.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. No exclusive jurisdiction is named, because no registered office exists to anchor one — a further consequence of there being no entity, set out in the Privacy Policy.
9. Contact
The TalentRewind project — privacy@talentrewind.com. There is no registered address to give. That address is the only channel, and it is read.
